Production
Bipasha Basu signed the film in early July 2012. Shortly after, it was announced that Nawazuddin Siddiqui would be paired opposite her for the first time in an unusual pairing of sorts. Siddiqui has mentioned that he plays an "emotional role" in the film. Speaking of the film's genre, Siddiqui has said it is a psychological thriller rather than a horror film. Six year old Doyel Dhawan plays Siddiqui and Basu's daughter in the film and is seen on the first look poster. The film also stars Shernaz Patel.
